Reconstructed Pict

Reconstructed face of a *Pictish man, thought to have been murdered 1400 years ago. From bones found in a cave on the Black Isle, Scotland.

*inhabitant of Scotland – the name ‘pict’ is though to have come from the Roman word ‘Picti’, meaning ‘Painted Ones’ in Latin. Possibly because these people were tattooed and/or wore warpaint.
